Google, I see you pee

google-maps-peeing.jpg

Seeing images like the one above – of a man peeing on the side of the road – worry me. What if Google catches me doing something unflattering in public while I thought no one was looking? I know urinating in public can’t be legal. What’s the going fine for relieving oneself in public?

In case you didn’t know, this is how you kiss

Syl and I had a laugh watching this video depicting the "proper" method of kissing someone. From lips only to French kissing (which the French didn’t really invent), to proper tongue use to necking (?). You’ll surely scratch your head and wonder if someone would really follow tips found in an online video share.

Sing out of tune? Get shot dead

Don’t take your chances getting on stage at a karaoke bar if you’re going to sing out of tune. Angry listeners may very well take your life.

A jobless man was shot dead by a security guard for singing out of tune in a Philippine karaoke bar, police said Thursday. Romy Baligula, 29, was halfway through his song on Tuesday night in a bar in San Mateo town, east of Manila, when 43-year-old security guard Robilito Ortega yelled that he was out of tune. As Baligula ignored his comments and continued singing, Ortega pulled out his revolver and shot him in the chest. Senior Superintendent Felipe Rojas said Baligula died instantly. The security guard was detained by an off-duty policeman shortly after the shooting. Deaths and violence are not uncommon in Philippine karaoke bars. The popular Frank Sinatra song “My Way” has been taken off many karaoke bars in Manila after it was found to be the cause of fights and even deaths when patrons sang out of tune.

Hitting the karaoke bar is still one thing that I never see myself doing.. Anyone else?

$400, 40 hrs. of community service, and 6 mo. probation

Who should be point fingers at first – the barbershop owner, the police officer, or the judge? A volunteer firefighter receives a somewhat irritating / harsh reminder that we’re living in paranoid times.

A Michigan cop, who’d obviously been hit over the head with a billy club one time too many, levied criminal charges against a man who used an open, public Wi-Fi network outside the cafe that was running it.

The dastardly computer criminal, Sam Peterson II, of Cedar Springs, Mich., chose to pay a $400 fine, do 40 hours of community service, and stay on probation six months.

Peterson has no criminal record. He’s a 39-year-old toolmaker, volunteer firefighter, and secretary of a bagpipe band.

Personally, I’ve gotten to the point that when open networks exist, that means that a) owners are too uneducated to know the perils of forgetting to add security, or b) network owners want to share.

One of the Top 10 spammers held in Seattle

F’n email spammers. Sometimes I think spammers deserve THE hardest incarceration sentences. Period! Fortunately, Seattle has the honor of holding [in custody] one of the Top 10 spammers in the world. Sometimes it’s difficult to forget that these spammers are people, like you and me… Right?

A 27-year-old man described as one of the world’s most prolific spammers was arrested Wednesday, and federal authorities said computer users across the Web could notice a decrease in the amount of junk e-mail.

Robert Alan Soloway is accused of using networks of compromised “zombie” computers to send out millions upon millions of spam e-mails.

“He’s one of the top 10 spammers in the world,” said Tim Cranton, a Microsoft Corp. lawyer who is senior director of the company’s Worldwide Internet Safety Programs. “He’s a huge problem for our customers. This is a very good day.”

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to empty the 1182 spam messages caught by Gmail today. ;)

A little time wasting never hurt anyone right? Procrastinating and updating a Twitter account surely tops the list of things to do when you don’t want to actually do anything productive. TweetVolume offers Twitterr fans an outlet to check-in to see what other Twitterati are saying. I experimented for all of about 15 seconds and discovered that the word "twitter" is one popular word.

It Pays to Read the Small Print: Apple TV Nuclear Security Administration

maybethatswhyitssohot.jpg

We’ve all seen the AppleTV unboxing photos and UNEASYreader Tim just pointed out that I should read the small print on the bottom of the box (pictured above).

©2007 Apple Computer, Inc. All rights reserved. Apple, the Apple logo, iTunes, and Mac are trademarks of Apple Computer, Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Apple TV is a trademark of Apple Computer, inc. CSI: and Jericho ©2007 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. Photo courtesy of National Nuclear Security Administration / Nevada Site Office.

Why would Apple write that?

On the front of the box is a photo of the AppleTV.

On the back of the box from left to right is a movie poster for “The Incredibles”, Album art for Beck’s “The Information”, a scene from “Cars”, album art for “CSI” and “Jericho”, as well as a photo of a couple. Anything Nuclear? Don’t thinks so.

Maybe that is why the damn unit runs so hot.

Thanks for the heads up, Tim!
