This is so true it’s not even funny! I used to work at Best Buy and hated selling printers, seeing them come in for returns, and then trying to fix them. Printers are from HELL!
So true! As a self-employed PC support engineer, have come across most of these problems…
Why can’t manufacturers just give us the DRIVERS, not additional bloatware? Why does HP insist on their printers being installed using their “wizard”, which sits there for 15 minutes doing apparently nothing while it’s trying to detect/install the printer?
Expiry dates? Haven’t come across that one yet, thanks for the warning, i’ll try and avoid those printers when ordering for customers… makes about as much sense as sticking to the expiry dates on tinned food.
If you want something that will work reliably & won’t cost a fortune to run, buy a second-hand laser printer, and a normal scanner if you need one.
But of course, most of these points are PC only… ;)
