Blackberry Hits Critical Mass – Goes Prepaid on TMobile

T-Mobile said Wednesday it will sell a pay-in-advance BlackBerry smartphone that doesn’t require a contract or credit check.
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is one of the four handsets offered through the Bellevue, Wash.-based carrier’s new T-Mobile Complete package. The kits start at $59.99, which includes the first month of service, and customers will have their choice of voice, text and data plans starting at $50 a month.
Not bad for $50 a month. Seems like T-Mobile is playing catchup to MetroPCS which already offers a $50 unlimited Blackberry plan but requires a contract. All in all I think this is a win for consumers that a Blackberry is so prevalent that it can now be a prepaid phone.
Are you sure about the $60 intro package? That seems very low for a blackberry since the 8520 is $349.99 for the Even More Plus plan (which has no annual contract too).
After some research it turns out the various kits start at $59.99, but the Blackberry 8520 prepaid kit is $299:
