Oh My(Fi)!

There are very few technologies I will swear by… First is Wifi, the second is a high speed anywhere cellular connection. Now mix the two and you will find the technological crush of my life, the Mifi!

Those who own it will agree it is a little godsend for the mobile road warrior – and now its been updated.

The Novatel Wireless MiFi will be having their first ever firmware upgrade since it was released. The free firmware upgrade will be available for download within the MiFi device Administration page on 10/22/2009. MiFi 2200 customers will not be notified, prompted, or aware in anyway that there is a firmware upgrade available.

Known Issues and Enhancements Provided with this Software Upgrade

Now fully compatible with Nintendo DS and BlackBerry Curve
No longer goes into hibernate mode while plugged into AC.
Now works properly while roaming internationally
New Administration page enhancements:
Fixed Roaming indicator added
Sprint Only mode support added
Allows international access
WiFi Channel Default changed to ‘Auto‘
DHCP IP ranges now support class A, B and C [via and [Andy Ihnatko a must have for any iPod Touch or iPhone user. The free app for MiFi users: shows complete status of device. Check it out.

  2. Glad I saw your tweet about this today. I use a Verizon MiFi with my iTouch so this was a good find. I never remember to look at my usage so this is handy. I also like being able to see how strong my signal is.

    Wanted to get the software upgrade, but I can’t log in because I failed to write down my admin name. I have the password, but not the name. Is there a way to reset the device?
