MetroPCS Adds Unlimited International Calling for $5
No, there is no typo in the headline. MetroPCS, the budget cellular carrier, has launched an unlimited international plan for $5 that you can add on to any unlimited national calling plan costing $40, $45 or $50 per month. The unlimited international plan works with over 100 countries.
“Unlimited international calling at such an affordable rate can dramatically reduce monthly long distance costs and is yet another example of MetroPCS’ commitment to providing industry-leading value to consumers in today’s tough economic climate,” said Roger D. Linquist, president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of MetroPCS. “MetroPCS is eliminating the worry of high international calling fees, counting minutes and dialing a connecting number, typical of traditional calling cards. With MetroPCS’ international calling, consumers are truly unlimited now more than ever.”
Wow. MetroPCS has setup a website that you can test your international numbers against, but for $5 I say this is a deal.

Hey Dan,
Wanted to ask you since tzones no longer works on T-mobile what do you think is the CHEAPEST way to get edge data on a 1st gen iphone on the go (no wifi) ?
Best deal I have found is getting the sidekick data plan for $30 a month ( $1 a day ) prepaid plan. No data plan is a very good deal after we were spoiled with the *FREE* data with prepaid T-mobile sim cards as you stated in an earlier post!!
Wish you could use it on metroPCS !
Thanks in advance for any input and thanks for keeps the site going and not changing the name ;-)

MetroPCS started the unlimited international calling to 100 contries in $5, just in the June end.
When I enabled the service all mobile phones / landlines phone of my Country were under the
unlimited plan.
Now just after 20 days, Mobile phones of my country are taken out of this unilimited plan.
And yes of course legelly they have mentioned on their Number lookup site that whatever
numbers are available now might go out of the plan –
It will happen this soon – Thats a surprise.
Seems MetroPCS has a history of bluffing.
