I actually just recently bought a ASUS MB and it came with and Instant OS called Express Gate. My computer only boots up in 30secs so if I can’t wait that long to get on the web. I have issues. For a laptop this isn’t the first attempt but would be nice to conserve battery to just play DVD’s.

My MBP has an instant-on feature too… it’s called sleep mode.

i agree with chowder… it only takes maybe 30 seconds for my computer to start up.. full minute to be online and in my email. maybe if this was a one time purchase thing it would be a better idea, i would much rather just take that 60 and put it in to the computer to make boot time faster.

A per year license just to have “instant on”…great idea for an OS, but I think I can handle having some patience and waiting a few for my OS to start…

[sarcasm]$60 a YEAR !!!! wow subscription based OS are soooo cheap! [/sarcasm]
Now to wait for subscription based windows…and Mac OS….but at least Linux/BSD will remain free!
p.s Anybody buying this ‘Software/OS’ is setting a dangerous precedent in terms of what they are willing to pay PER MONTH for using a computer.
