This post was published 1 year 2 months 16 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Seems like Twitter isn’t the only area hackers are targeting. Seems that MacRumors live feed has been hacked.

All news from the feed should now be considered unreliable or fictitious.
Developing.
UPDATE: The coverage has been shutdown.

This is annoying! I tuned in to a different feed but it’s not near as good. Anyone got some alternatives?
I am using the engadget one, pretty lame as well.

Pirillo is streaming the audio.

MacWorld has a live blog. Just keep updating.
It’s a lot worse than shutdown. It displays an obscene image for a split second then redirects to a broken page on Indiana University. It’s been like that for about 20 minutes now.
What a shame!!!

Sorry guys, we meant to say ebaums did it.
epic win
I managed to capture a full screenshot while the hack was in full swing: http://digg.com/apple/MacRumors_live_Macworld_2009_feed_hacked
Totally hilarious!!! On the floor laughing my ass off! Now lets listen to all the fan boys say how safe apple is and its immunity to hackers/virus’s. I applaud what they did…NOT what they said. Proves apple fan boys ain’t so safe and secure after all.
pretty sure websites are on windows or linux hosting machines, not apple =\
you’re an idiot… and it wasn’t an OS related hack retard, it was a security oversite and not locking down a config file..
you FTL.
I saw this earlier on the MacThemes forum. Sad.
On another note, glad to see the 17-inch MBP got updated. Maybe we’ll get more hardware news in February.
It was the people from #macosx on irc.freenode.net Seriously, you can check the logs and you’ll see it’s them. I was there when it happened.
It was not only the people at ebaums, it was /g/ from 4chan and the guys at #macosx on irc.freenode.net.
Aside from that, people at macrumors did had it coming, they exposed their password file: macrumorslive.com/admin/.passwd , so the access to their mainframe was just an MD5 collision appart.
I [heart] /b/
