What We Learned Today: Bill O is Gay and Britney, uh, Has Teeth
I love fishing, people just click on any URL and assume it is the site it says it is. Case and point, Twitter.
All is not happy in the land of micro blogging. Seems that they are undergoing a massive fishing attack.
If you receive a direct message or a direct message email notification that redirects to what looks like Twitter.com—don’t sign in. Look closely at the URL because it could be a scam.
What Is Phishing?
Wikipedia defines phishing as “the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.” We’ve identified a phishing scam directed at Twitter users and we don’t want you to get tricked into giving your password to a scammer.
So, you think that even with a warning on EVERY page that even the most novice of user would be on the lookout? Well, apparently some users just don’t get it. These users? The account administrators for Fox News, Barack Obama and Britney Spears Twitter account to name a few.

Well, at least I THINK the accounts were hacked. We have reached out to Kevin Federline for comment.

Hm, none of these 3 examples are very far fetched.
epic lulz were had… congrats phishers, I commend thee.
Just a followup: It wasn’t phishing. It was an unsecured admin backend that twitter devs use to reset passwords and such.
What makes you think Britney’s account was hacked? I believed it… ;)
