I’ve never been a materialist. Don’t get me wrong I love toys but the hand made, personal stuff gets me every time.

I got the sweetest, most loving card I have ever gotten in my whole life. Sappy, I know but man oh man did it make me smile!

  3. Preshit says:

I got a mighty warning from parents not to waste my money on gadgets. Else, I was hoping to buy a 24″ Monitor.

    What did you get?

  4. Johansen says:

  8. Paul B. says:

Absolutely nothing (besides my rather wealthy uncle’s “Give to everyone” gift). My family, rather affected by the economy, decided to take a different approach to Christmas. Instead of giving gifts to members of the family, we decided to give a donation to the victims of a recent apartment fire. The sad thing is the fire was VERY recent, it happened on Monday Dec 22. It actually feels better that we gave gifts rather than received them.

  9. PJ says:

“More Information Than You Require”, by John Hodgman. One of the best books ever.

  10. Jerry says:

A gift for myself: a 2006 Scion xB, after totaling my truck 2 weeks ago.
Otherwise, sore rib cage for the next few weeks. The gift that keeps on giving. (Ouch)

  11. turtlejp says:

Money is tight so I asked for nothing but still received the movie Singles on DVD.
A simple item, but one that was purchased with much thought and that has a lot of sentimental value.

i also received a Flickr Pro account from a friend which was way above and beyond.

  12. Shea says:

GF got an iPod nano, and a 10 megapixel camera. I got the zombie survival guide and scrubs season 5 :)

  13. marcintosh says:

20″ iMac (got it myself for everyone), a remote control helicopter (the little indoor toy kind), and some dvds and sweaters. I always gets sweaters.

  14. C David Dent says:

I bought a region-free blu-Ray for the wife and I and had the pleasure of seeing her excited reaction when she saw the first bluray disk (Firefly) play. She forgave me making the (pretty expensive) purchase without consulting her first.

  15. “More Information Than You Require”, by John Hodgman. One of the best books ever.

    Agree with you!

  16. i didn’t get anything =( … i am so sad
