After trying Android, I have to say that I'm not nearly as impressed as you seem to be. It totally feels like a beta quality device and OS.

There is no doubt that Android WILL become a dominant force in the industry, but it certainly isn't going to happen here. I have a feeling that quite a few of the non-geeks who buy this phone expecting it to be the t-mobile equivalent of the iPhone are going to end up being extremely upset with it.

I'm looking forward to seeing a device more like the HTC Touch Diamond running Android with a totally revamped user-interface that is actually consistent throughout.

The G1, at least in it's current state, doesn't do much but frustrate me.

Nothing to do with Android but look forward to try it out.

Dan have you seen that Codeweaver are giving their software away free today (until 1159 CST). They current have some problems with the server and have temporarily disabled the CodeWeavers main website but you can still get the serial number under the "The CodeWeavers Lame Duck Presidential Challenge"

www.codeweavers.com

its a good program for the mac or linux to run windows applications without windows.

@Ross: What spelling mistake? Android requires that Dan eat its hat. That seems the least he could do, a mac-hugger like him (and me).

Dan I think you're wrong on this one ... Android is going to be as much of a front runner as iPhone and RIM. I am willing to bet in the next 2 years you're going to see more Android handsets... what's really cool is 2 people with the same phone can have completely different flavors.... there is gonna be a day where your friend will hand you his phone that's the same model as yours and you'll have to take a second to get used to his because he's installed OS extensions and replaced core components of the OS... maybe a different dialer, or a different desktop... you're heavily under estimating it... hope you're putting another crow pie in the oven.

Android > All .... just you wait.
