I don't really know why Image Shack would be doing this, I thought they were an image hosting company, I guess they want to move in another direction.

@Andrew

Think about in context of access availability though... example you're at the air port, and you have a 4 hour flight... and a 5 hour lay over at your next hop... you don't have time to download the entire torrent because it's got a bad seed ratio and it's going to take 2.5 hours to finish, but you board your plane in 30 minutes... enter stage left ImageShack. Now you set their server to download it for you... get off your flight hop on wifi and boom, that new album you wanted is waiting and now you just have to wait the 20-30 minutes it takes to fetch off their server as opposed to firing up your laptop and waiting another 2 hours for your download to finish.

I'm sure their are other examples where this could be equally as useful... I just don't see how they plan on protecting or getting around the legal repercussions of such a service.

Sounds like this would take twice as long to download anything. Since you wait for ImageShack to download the torrent then you download the finished torrent from their server?

@Doc

I was thinking the same thing... the legal loop holes this kind of idea entails is scary, and if you think ImageShack is going to try and defend you in court, or even help... pfft... might as well just write a letter to the MPAA yourself asking if they could sue you when they get a chance in their already busy schedule.
