But not being on a social network doesn’t solve the problem of someone uploading an embarrasing picture of you to their profile, where someone can find it, download it, pass it on, etc. Isn’t it better to be on the social network and get notified when someone tags you in a picture so you can ask them nicely to take it down before it does any damage?

Reason 3,424: Some social networks such as Facebook don’t off the option to fully remove your account, rather they deactivate it and still contain your information.
