The reason that PCMobilizr is a monthly subscription is because it's a hosted service, the advantage of a hosted service is that you don't need to know the ip address of the computer you want to connect to, it can even be hidden behind a firewall.

We have a one-time fee product called Mobile Desktop (a VNC and RDP client), which we have had available for a couple of years, PCMobilizr was developed based on this product to solve the problem that a lot of people don't know their IP address, or are behind a firewall.

Soonr provides access to only files, it does not allow you to view the screen of your computer and control the mouse like PCMobilizr does.

@Branden: TSMobiles™ is nice app...and I agree monthly fees stink...remember you still have to pay the Windoze licensing fee for Terminal Service to be able to use RDP.

Or, you could try TSMobiles, which is a one-time fee and simply works with RDP (remote desktop) included in XP/2k3/Vista.

I'd never pay a monthly fee for something that should be accomplished by a standalone client app...

That is pretty neat! And like you said perfect for them IT guys. I personally wouldn't know what I would do if I couldn't access and remotely do anything I want, to me and my buddy's server from anywhere - via my laptop.
