Writeroom: Word Processing for the ADD Age

If you are like me, digital distractions have become an increasingly large problem in my life. How many times have you sat down to type something and something outside of your word processing window just grabs your attention and ruins your concentration.
Writeroom aims to fix that problem.
WriteRoom is not Microsoft Word. It won’t generate a table of contents, it won’t place borders around your documents, and it doesn’t have an animated paper-clip looking over your shoulder. Instead WriteRoom just provides the essential features required to get words on the page. Stay focused with WriteRoom’s distraction free environment. Stay on track with word count. Stay safe with autosave. You just type, and WriteRoom will do its best to stay out of your way.
Honestly, I think that this will quickly become one of my favorite applications. A simple to use, bloat free honest to goodness word processor – well worth the $24.95. Mac only.
25$ for THAT ?
Here is a windows alternative to Writeroom called Darkroom.

I’ve been using it for quite some time and it’s frankly a great piece of software.
I got sick of distractions in Word for Mac (and sick of waiting for a universal binary), so I bought iWork ‘08. Gets the job done, no distractions. The only problem is the MS Word import/export feature needs reworking.
Um, he offers the original Writeroom 1.0 for free under the releases page.
I use it under Leopard and have been using it for I would estimate over a year now under Tiger and it’s just fine.

I highly recommend this app! It’s great but the price is a major setback. Got it through the MacUpdate Bundle the other time though..
Wow…why don’t you just use text edit in full screen mode??
