In a spam email to all Zune Marketplace customers Microsoft acknowledged that on November 13, the new Zune OS and PC player will be made available for download. For those out of the loop (or enjoying their iPods too much) the new OS will feature Wireless Sync which will automatically sync with your music and video library through your home network, when docked or charging with an AC adaptor amoing a host of other features.

So if are are one of 13 Zune users out there, this will surely be a neat addition.

make that 14 zune users…since I have one…and I’m going to be buying another

  2. Dan says:

Hey CZARCRUISE…. Welcome to the social!

I have one too for what it matters.

  3. Nicky says:

    13 users? Really?
I thought they were only 9 out there, I missed the other 4…

Stop hitting on the damn Zune, I understand that it’s M$, but so is the XBox and that is by far the best console right now. I absolutely hate Windows but give the Zune a chance. It beats the iPod’s for sure, but of course fanboyism blinds you.

  5. Chris says:

Do we need to start another conversation about how much better Wii/PS3/OSX is compared to the Xbox?

  6. Lisa says:

Okay, Matt, seriously. Cool it. It’s a joke.

  7. Rager says:

Whoa, Chris, I love the comparison between the Xbox and OSX. I mean, it’s like comparing your car’s dashboard to someone’s motorcycle. Uneasy as a whole, though tends to be pretty pro-Apple with a fanboyish bent, so I’m not really that surprised at the jabs at anything suggesting that Apple isn’t the only company out there that’s done good work.

  8. John says:

me and my mother have zunes…but mine was replacing my second gen ipod mini…it finally died…

i must day…i didnt dig the scroll wheel that much…

  9. Nicky says:

I think I’ve been misunderstood. I was joking, I own a Zune myself. It is imported, since I live in Italy, and it’s quite a conversation starter since no-one ever seen one of these here…

  10. Nate says:

Personally I am WAY happier with my zune then I ever was with my ipod. I work on windows, I don’t know about mac users, I know for me a big thing was the compatibility issue, especially because apple is a power hungry monster. A also don’t like the scroll wheel, good in idea but terrible in execution. Under imperfect conditions it doesn’t work, in addition the wireless is great, but rarely gets used. The only downsides to the zune- poor battery life (what doesn’t), and size- I’ll live.

I agree with the allegation of fanboyism going on. I find it quite amusing that 23 years ago Apple used a “1984″ commercial concept telling everyone to stop listening to the mental programming, yet that’s what they’ve become.

Go to an Apple store – White walls, silver decor, Steve Jobs clones walking around in black shirts and jeans. It’s a creepy temple for the local iCult. Prefer something made by someone else? You’re just plain stupid. Duh.
