		<description>POP and IMAP have one major difference:  with POP your email is copied to your computer, and then deleted off the server, while IMAP doesn&#039;t copy anything (per se) and keeps everything on the server until you delete it manually.  While it might seem like a small difference, the main benefit is that you can have access to your entire email account at any machine with IMAP, while you&#039;re limited to just one with POP.  In the early days of email, POP was the standard, but more people are becoming aware of IMAP and are choosing it over POP.</description>
