Last night Google added some new and interesting features to their finance site. The newly refreshed chart UI is designed to make it easier to compare the performance of stocks, indices and even mutual funds. Google also lets users “link to chart” that will preserve any setting and comparisons you setup. Perfect for the cubicle day trader!
Dan, technicially it’s Google Finance, not Google Stocks, but who cares?
More importantly Google Finance still lacks some of the most basic information about non-US stock indices; No FTSE100, no CAC40, No IBEX nothing
Typical American “myopia” as I call it; outside of the US there isn’t anybody that matters so no functionality for you.
The single most basic function they are also missing is the ISIN lookup, which is a security’s serial number such as FR0000133308. .
I work on a trading floor and Bloomberg rules, but everybody likes to have a quick and dirty link to stocks and news via browser and as pretty as Google’s offering is it sucks for anybody who wants to look-up anything else than MSFT or teh NDX.
