I’m certainly no Hendrix, but I do enjoy a good jam session every now and then. Unfortunately it seems that every time I take my aging Fender out of its dusty case, it’s gone out of tune. Out comes the tuner, and after twiddling at all the knobs to get things sounding right, what was meant to be a lazy “pick up and play” has turned into a chore.

In what is sure to be a glossy red manifestation of many a six-string samurai, Gibson has announced a line of instruments with PowerTune technology which makes getting your axe ship-shape as quick and easy as a few seconds and the push of a button.

Sure, other companies have previously offered similar technology, but when you really want to wow your fans– even if they’re just your sisters stuffed animals– sometimes only a Gibson will do.

I hope it’ll be able to do alternate tunings, or let you pick the notes.

  2. Tensenki says:

I’ll stick to my Tele and a $10 tuner.
