In the spirit of the MagSafe power adapter comes a product that aims to bring the same protection to your audio jack. Sure, a broken headphone port isn’t going to cripple your machine in the same way as a dead power port will, but it can sure be frustrating– not to mention difficult to fix. Replug is a special 3.5mm audio jack adapter that looks awfully similar to the Belkin iPhone adapter; but this baby’s got tricks up its sleeve. Sure, it bends when pulled, but the really cool thing is the way it breaks in two when enough torque is put on the jack, preventing any damage to the jack itself, and presumably stopping your headphones from becoming the unwilling executioner of your MacBook as you trip over them and send your machine crashing to the ground. They’re not available for purchase just yet, but assuming they work with an iPhone (fingers crossed), I could easily see make them a permanent addition to my audio setup.

i wonder if this works even for the digital/optical port on the macbook pros?

Answered my question by going to the site finally; only supports standard “analog” 3.5mm plugs NOT toslink style digital/optical plugs.
