Ok, AT&T has made it to my list of most evil corporations. On their new customer Terms of Service agreement for AT&T reserves the right to terminate your connection for conduct that “tends to damage the name or reputation of AT&T, or its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries.”

What that translates to is that if you use their connection to write about or podcast about anything that criticizes any aspect of AT&T – even down to small billing issues – they can terminate your connection.

That has to be the single most evil thing I have heard so far this year.

but hey! You can get DSL for $15 for 12 whole months before they jack it up to $50 per month!

Put your hand to your ear and listen for the sound of all those former ISPs closing their doors because they charged $50 per month for Internet Access …..

criticizes AT&T & you will have an iphone with no carrier, and no termination fee… right?
    RIGHT!?

that’s so very messed up. it kinda reminds me of “V for Vendetta” on a very, very small scale. AT&T = Tyrants and Corporate whores! take that you bastards. VZW owns your ass.

It’s really hard to not talk bad about AT&T. Horrible service where I live at.

you give AT&T too much credit.. they don’t take the time to go thru blogs looking for people bitching about service. on the other hand, if you go to flaming them in a large and public manner, while on one of their connections, my guess is that they’ll get a bit testy about it- and invoke the contract clause.

my advice? stick to the normal level of telephone company bashing and nobody will be the wiser..

i have family that work at AT&T and many of their coworkers even have Verizon cell phones. That shows how bad their service is.
