McDonalds To Accept Orders Through Mobile Phones

070912_p02_skt.jpg McDonald’s in Korea is toying with the idea of a cell phone based ordering in a partnership with SK Telecom (You know the other half of Helio). When a customer enter McDonalds they plug in a RFID fob on the end of their cellphone, and with a touch a button they can see the menu (Doesn’t everyone just get a #2?) another button push orders the items. To finish things off when the food is ready, customers are notified with an SMS message.

  3. Order pucks, or whatever those blinking things are that busy restaurants give you now, I thought were sufficient – they let you know when you’re up. It seems like WAY too much work to deal with your phone. I understand that multiple people could order at once and all, but a cellphone is just way to hard for complicated orders (extra pickle, no mustard, onions on the side :P).
