Screw iPhoneSIMFree: Unlock Your Phone For Free

Posted in Apple, Downloadable by Dan at 9:09 am

iphone-unlock-gui-beta-top.jpg We over at UNEASYsilence have been very angry that iPhoneSIMFree released a PAID software unlock mainly because it rides on the heals and monetizes all the open source hard work other developers have done – especially when it comes to Jailbreaking your iPhone.

To combat that, HaRRo last night worked to release a FREE iPhone unlocking utility (One click GUI at that!) that is as good any any other paid offering.

As a thank you UNEASYsilence has made a donation to HaRRo (in our readers names) for all his hard work and for continuing to keep this great stuff free!

haha! Someone’s going to be crying tonight. All this iPhone hype is driving me nuts, I have to restrain myself from just buying one off eBay especially now that I can unlock it for free. I have to try to wait for the 2nd Gen of iPhones… I have to…

3G is not for NA. You will have to import the 3G if you live in the states.

  9. Domi says:

Harro should not take credit. The unlock was done by a collective group of people over at iPhone Dev Team. Harro just took unstable GUI code from a previous build which they didnt let out and attached it to the code to get the unlock to work. If you wait a few days – a proper final version of the GUi will be released by the team.

Looks like Harro fooled u guys at uneasysilence.. the same way iPhoneSIMFree thought people would pay to unlock when it could eventually be figured out for free.
