CooperBricolage, Coworking in NYC

Being a blogger is great. I make my own hours, can work from anywhere in the world, and get read by thousands of people a day. But being a blogger also means I don’t have an office, which means I can usually be found sitting alone at my desk when working, something that can get very boring very quickly.
As an answer to this plight facing bloggers and other freelance geeks, coworking spaces have begun sprouting up all over the country. The concept of coworking is to create a communal work-area for people who, although they work alone, enjoy the stimulation and camaraderie that comes from sharing a work environment with others.
For those of us in NYC, CooperBricolage just opened in the East Village to serve just this purpose. Located on trendy St. Marks Place, Coobric is a place for designers, developers, bloggers, and entrepreneurs to come together, get some work done, and help put NYC back on the maps as a mecca of emerging technology to rival that of Silicon Valley.
Coobric is not-for-profit, for and by its members. Stop by sometime and check the space out. Drop in and membership rates are reasonable, but we have to pay the rent somehow. Let me know if you’re planning to come and we can do a UES meetup!

Mabye I should check that place out.
I would totally go…. but I’m stuck up here in Michigan. Sorry :(
