Whaaaaa?! Packard Bell Is Making Computers Again?! And It’s A UltraPortable?!

Well slap me silly and call me a monkies uncle – Packard Bell is making computers again. Their target? Ultra portables. Now you may think that the ultra portable market is kinda flooded at the moment, but Packard Bell is pushing forward with this 2 pound device.
Powered by a VIA processor, this little guy will eek out three hours of battery life even with its WiFi connection on. Comes with the usual complements of I/O, 30GB HDD and webcam. To separate itself from the pack Unlike the Fooleo Foleo, the Packard Bell unit will ship with a full version of Windows XP instead of Linux.

Shouldn’t it be ‘an UltraPortable’?
Anyway, 3 hours of battery life with Wi-Fi on is pretty impressive. Those new VIA chips must be doing something good, or not a whole lot as the case may be…
they still make computers dude. in fact, they’re are the first notebook vendor in my country (chile).
Actually, I believe Packard Bell never stopped making computers. They just stopped selling them in the USA.
@Cary: Right you are. They first moved out of Chatswoorth, CA to Utah, then they bombed out of the the biz in the US altogether and went to Europe. After that I’m not sure where, but I knew they were still around.
