Ever wonder how Star Wars looks in HD? Paul Johnson at the University of Colorado, Boulder, compared what Princess Leah and the crew looked like, comparing a standard DVD 480i shot to the new HD 1080p satellite feed.

I personally really see the difference, but feel that the HD version is a little washed out color-wise.

Huge difference. You really notice it in the ideas. The HD should be more saturated though. Odd since TV companies tend to oversaturate the picture to give the impression of higher quality. I like the HD better even if it is a little underexposed and not saturated enough.

I still don’t get the “HD porn is gonna be scary” deal. It’s here and it IS scary.

But yeah…a bit too much detail. Yoda does look a little more like a puppet now :(

@ CHRIS- Because you can see all the imperfections. Many a star has gone under the knife in preparation for HD.

I see a big difference and I can bet it looks even better when being viewed on a 1080P DLP.

  10. Ben says:

It would look good with DVD color and HD quality.
