Popular Linux creator Ubuntu has entered alpha on their next release “Gutsy Gibbon.” Although it is an alpha and should not be rolled out on a production machine there are some neat features such as creating dual monitors with can be resolution dependent and a virtual PDF printer and overhauled printer support.
I’m an advocate of alternative operating systems and think that Ubuntu is making major steps to make Linux a viable third alternative.
i run feisty fawn…but ive been working a lot and havent played with it too much yet…but i love it so far…
If the educational software we use ran on Linux, I’d probably switch us over. But seeing as it’s Mac and Windows only, and the sup loves Dell, I’m stuck with what we have.
What is the software? Wine can sometimes be enough to run the software perfectly.
