12V Battery Hack

I wonder how true it is that the companies making Energizer and Duracel batteries also make generic batteries that last just as long for a fraction of the price. Interesting hack still.
this just makes me pissed off at battery suppliers more than anything, there is no possible cost effective way that 6 fucking batteries fit into a sleeve, then are capped on each end, then get plastic coated and packaged and it costs less than a single one of the internal batteries.
