Levitating Illuminated Light bulb

This is no trick of the eye, this “magical” levitating bulb illuminates without an physical contact with wires or batteries. The bulb is designed to use electromagnetic technology to lift from the base and to beam resonant wireless power into the bulb.

The most interesting thing is that the total power consumed by the bulb along with the levitator is less than half the power consumed by the incandescent bulb.

    That is rad. I’m glad the movie credits say “inspired by Nikola Tesla”. His experiments were the first thing I thought of when I saw the wireless light.

  3. wow, that’s really cool. I’ve heard about magicians pulling these sorts of tricks (but without the levitation). He would hand out two fluorescent light bulbs to two random people from the audience and then he would be able to “magically” turn them on without them being connected to anything. This is probably the same thing right? Using a wireless power transmit coil..?

    Sameer: Or you can use a military-grade signal jammer, dialed to the right frequency, to excite the gas in the fluorescent bulb. :)
