Flickrize Your Desktop

Here is some quasi cross platform goodness that will excite all Flickr lovers, or anyone who appreciates a good desktop.
If you run Windows, Rush Frisby created a Flickr Wallpaper Rotator application that resides in your Windows system tray application that changes your desktop background to a photo from Flickr based upon criteria you set. You can specify image tags, or a Flickr username as the display type and how often you want the background image to change. Kinda neat. Requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed.
On the Mac side of things, Desklickr is a universal application that sits in your menu bar and grabs Flickr photos from profiles, tag searches or groups that you specify. Even has limited multi-screen support.
Both utilities are available for free giving you no excuse now to use boring factory desktops ever again.

Hmm, what rolls of the tongue nicer? Desklickr or Flickr Wallpaper Rotator? The latter is not very creative now is it? =-)
But I’m still gonna check it out.

How is it on your system? Other such programs (Webshots) uses up a lot of your system resources

I tested Desklickr, and didn’t take up too much system resources.

The windows version works well in the background with little memory usage too.

I tested it and it was interesting until it didn’t work anymore. No feedback from the developer, Umm, dunno, wish I could say more.
