Be Your Own Publisher With Amazon
As printing technology evolved, the high cost barrier to publish a book has slowly diminished. Amazon may have the perfect formula to help get small publishes off the ground.
They have created a service called CreateSpace, which is a new Books On Demand service. It is designed to eliminate setup fees, inventory, and let users setup a free estore. All you do is send the original text file to CreateSpace, and when someone purchases your item, Amazon prints the book on demand and ships it within 24 hours. Your items will of course be accessible to all that visit Amazon, giving you a large potential customer base.

Sounds just like Lulu.
Wow, they really milk you for all you earn, don’t they?

So, say your book is a 200 page b&w novel and you’re selling it for $10.
From one sale:
$3.15 + $4.00 + $5 (50% of $10) = $12.15 … yeah.
Maybe certain people selling certain books either will overprice their book just to make a profit, or just won’t use the service if they want to make any money.
