My Tech: Dereks toys for work & play

Although I have been a tad on the busy side with work, I couldn’t resist a few minutes to sit down and compare tech toys with the rest of the UNEASYcrew. Sadly, I do not have any pieces of technology which carry sentimental value like some of the toys owned by Dan, but I can admit that after having been introduced to Dan, my love for all things Apple – and technology in general – has only increased over the years.

So, to compare gizmos against gadgets, here’s my collection of goodies and how or where I use them:

Work Hardware

Mac Pro – 2.66 Ghz Quad Core (loaded + 1TB HDD)

Dell 24″ 2407WFP

Logitech MX Revolution

Logitech diNovo Edge & Apple Pro Keyboard

Mobile Hardware

MacBook (black) – 2.16 Ghz + 2GB RAM

Sprint Novatel U720 USB modem

Kyocera KR1 wireless router – share EVDO internet on the road

iPhone

Home Entertainment

Toshiba 42″ Regza LCD

XBox Elite

Nintendo Wii

Mvix MX-760HD – not as pretty as an Apple TV but far more value + features

Popular software

Photoshop CS3

TextMate

SmartSVN

VMware Fusion – far more stable than Parallels

Something I will own

I’ve been pretty good when it comes to spending money on hardware over the past few months. There is one piece of hardware that I am holding out for – an ultra portable Apple MacBook Pro. Until that comes out, I am doing my best to curb any extraneousness expenditures making full use of my exiting hardware.
