Fact Or Fiction: The Google Phone
This post was published 2 years 7 months 19 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Rumors are swirling around the internet that Google is shopping a prototype phone to multiple service providers. Google has long denied that they are entering the phone business and voiced that they rather stick to providing software solutions.
My thoughts are the Google is showcasing a proof of concept solution (Such as the Intel Metro) to help inspire service providers to offer more Google products on existing models as well as possibly showcase new features. Why would Google want to go into the hardware business after Eric Schmidt and Steve Jobs jointly announced a long standing deep partnership on the iPhone? Makes no sense. Their software works on all Java handhelds, Windows Mobile devices, PalmOS smartphones, and Blackberries. That covers about 90% of the mobile phone population, why mess things up with your own branded handset?
