If you are anything like my family, you probably have scads of VHS tapes just laying around documenting hours and hours of your early life. As each day passes, the quality and reliability of these tapes are eroding. Why not bridge the digital gap and preserve this footage before it is lost forever?

The “One Touch VHS-to-DVD unit” will convert your aging VHS tapes to a blank DVD with a press a button. It will even upscale video to 720p/1080i (Though I’m not sure WHY you would want to do that). Available in August for the EXTREMELY high price of $400. But can’t put a pice on memories, can you?

see things like this make me think of how retarded it is that i can get in trouble for copying videos and it also makes me angry that i cant download videos off the internet but i can recored them off my tv….

Psh, my DVD recorder has one-touch transferring built-in, at only $500 AUD.

Beware, before you purchase this. It will only transfer VHS tapes that you created yourself. It WILL NOT copy any commercial VHS (like Disney movies) to DVD. Instead, it will display an error, claiming the source is copyrighted and will not proceed. If there is any macrovision flags in the video of the VHS (most movies) then this device will not do what you are looking to do.
