My SYNC lets me surf the web (very well with the new Opera Beta), sync contacts and calendar to outlook, get my gmail or any other email, play mp3s and videos...... And after rebates $25 with usb cable, headset, and 1gig memory card. Perhaps most importantly, with 3G. I had a Cingular 2125 and there was nothing wrong with it, but I must have missed something about smartphones that makes them better.
