The large problem I have with portable computers is how difficult, if not impossible, it is to upgrade them. Most laptop vendors give you the option, if you are lucky, to upgrade the hard drive and system memory. Asus is turing the notebook world on its head by creating a notebook designed to be completely upgradeable. They let you swap out the processor to the graphics card (Even the LCD is fair game). Access to the systems guys couldn’t be any easier, everything is available right under the keyboard.

The most basic specs for the laptop include the Intel Conroe platform, a 15.4″ screen, a 2.0 megapixel webcam, HDMI, bluetooth, integrated TV tuner, E-SATA, an 8-in-1 media card reader, 802.11n wifi, fingerprint reader, 3 USB ports and support for a next generation DVD drive.

Starting price for the Asus C90S is $1,300.
