Metal Gear Solid 4 Gameplay Impresses
This post was published 2 years 7 months 27 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. The Playstation 3 has been looked down upon since its inception because of the price tag and lack of game software. I was seriously considering getting an Xbox 360 myself but after watching the above video from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots I’m reminded of why I want to get a Playstion 3. Is it just me being a huge MGS fanboy or is that video impressive even if you’re not a gamer? Clocking in at 15 minutes, I have no problem watching it more than once. The Playstation 3 needs killer-aps like this to get the system moving off of shelves and thanks to video like this, free online and faulty competition. Thoughts?
My thought is why this would make you buy a PS3 with games looking as good on 360 and the 360 blowing ps3 away in online gaming and media center capability?
My reasons:
Not a fan of the 360 controller though I may be able to get used to it, maybe.
MGS is an exclusive game to the PS3, while it may get on the 360 nothing is definite yet
Metal Gear Online is also a PS3 exclusive – http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3161471
Free Online with PS3 – while I know you can get online for free with the 360, I’d want the Gold membership but rather it be free since I don’t know how often I can game online.
Faulty units – I was going to get the 360 but the failure rate is a major deterrent even if you have a 3 year warranty. That and the exclusives like MGS and Tekken.
As for the media center capability? I don’t think it’s a big issue, the PS3 plays lots of stuff and I especially like that I can install my own, larger HD with no problems. It seems that the PS3 is less “locked-down”.
it’s coming to X360 4-5 months after PS3
save yourself the 550$ (after tax)
We don’t know for sure and I really, really don’t want to deal with a faulty console, I just do not want to have to send it back.
Evan…? New writer for uneasy?
Evan, the Xbox controller ergonomics are better than PS2/3 – though it could take some getting used to if you’ve grown accustomed to Playstation. Based on recent reports, it sounds like MS feels confident the bulk of production issues have been resolved so odds are better now. (My 360 has been rock solid, knock on wood.) I haven’t had much use for the 360 as a Vista media extender, but I have enjoyed the occasional movie download. I got my 360 for half price which made it an easier decision. And I expect to pick up a Wii this fall.
Myke, Yup… Another write is getting introduced today too. We will have a formal introduction in August.
Well, I’m still getting the PS3 so we’ll see how sucky it will be.
Myke – Yep, I’m new. Let the hazing begin.
