Try this gas pump trick at your own risk. Watch the video clip which instructs you on what buttons / combination of buttons to press in order to freeze the counter on the gas pump while you continue pumping.

    Anyone tried this?

Anything like this on metacafe is fake. Metacafe has a rewards system for videos that get higher hit counts – so people make videos like this to attract traffic. I can’t believe people still haven’t figured this out… Uneasy you are supposed to be tech savvy :(

Looks like he doesn’t press the button when the pump stops at $5.04, and all of a sudden the numbers get blurry..hmmm… I think it’s fake.

  4. Jeffrey says:

Totally fake, the numbers blurred out, plus you can see he didnt paste the 5.04 over the entire $ area because the bottom still changes.. look carefully you’ll see it

    BS…

I thought he was playing gas pump simon says.

  8. It’s obviously fake. We did crap like this all the time when I was in film school.

As has been pointed out, the numbers go a little blurry and seem to dance (which they weren’t doing until after he pressed the button). For me, the strongest piece of evidence is the jump cut when he’s putting the nozzle back. He cuts the video so that the hose never crosses over the display.

F stopping the pump – just show me where I can find gas for that price!

  10. Sameer says:

Pssh… this is fake…. who spells ‘gas’ with a ‘z’….

  11. GP says:

’cause you guys need cheaper fuel!! … you know the rest of the world pays nearly double that price you do ….

  12. Zang says:

You think that’s cheap? That’s a Canadian pump. At $1.12 per litre, that’s about $4.25 CDN per gallon , which works out roughly (based on today’s current exchange rate) to $4.06 USD per gallon.

    We’ll gladly trade you.
