TiVo Users Can Now Purchase Amazon Unbox Videos Directly On Their TiVo Box

Trying to one-up the AppleTV, TiVo and Amazon jointly announced that you can order Amazon Unbox videos directly on your TiVo. This welcome feature now removes the requirement that you needed your computer to place your order on the high quality VoD service.

We are excited to make Amazon Unbox on TiVo even easier to use by making it possible to purchase and rent movies and TV shows not only on the Web but also with your remote control,” said Roy Price, Director, Amazon Unbox.

The Unbox service on TiVo is a really awesome convenience that will hopefully, with an expanded collection, replace Pay-Per-View and has become a favorite at UNEASYcentral.

    Those 99 cent weekend sales are pretty sweet… even if they are SD.

    I have both TiVo and appleTV; looks like they are about to go into battle! I think in my living room TiVo is going to win the movie (rental) war, and appleTV will be the lead for TV shows, podcasts, and music – which I do much more of than buying/renting movies.
