@don
i looked and this is what i found concerning where the money goes
"Where was all that money going to go? Now, that's the big question. Live Earth is not a registered charity in and of itself. Any money they made on Saturday, possibly as much as $6 million, is being collected by a group called the Alliance for Climate Protection. The Alliance is only supposed to stay in business for three years, and use the money to make commercials and disseminate as much information as possible on climate change and global warming. Some of the money will go to preexisting climate groups."

one last thing, i read that people at live earth were opposed to nuclear power, like signs and what not, and that is just...simply put wrong, its not a matter of opinion its misinformed and eneducated. Im not saying anyone opposed to it is stupid, just misinformed, or they never fully looked into themselves and just associate it with being bad. If you want evidence why nuclear power is a clean, safe, and cheap energy source then watch the Penn and Teller episode on it entitled Nukes, Hybrids and Lesbians. they present you with all the facts.

it goes to al gore of course, i mean because he deserves at least a cut because of all the trouble he went through for saving us all.

and on a side note i hate raising awareness.. for anything.. because people know its there, we just choose not to do anything active i suppose, i mean if they really wanted to do good they would not promote awareness but they themselves do good, like planting trees or support bio-diesel or something. i mean its not like i can run my car with awareness, because if that was true we all would have plenty. and to play devils advicate for a second, awareness is good in certain cases, condom use and AIDS awarness in africa, places in africa thave have never heard of a condom, is good, awarness by a bumper sticker in America or a concert charging people money to tell them things people already know is a waste. sorry for the tirade but its anoying how people think they are doing something and are either wasting their time and efforts or are beling fooled and minipulated.

this wasn't one of those things where they didn't charge admission because it's to raise awareness is it?

because seriously, charge a dollar to get in, then use the money to plant 100,000 trees.

I don't understand how awareness for free is more effective than awareness for a dollar then using said dollars to raise more awareness or at least help the cause.

Aww, you never know, it may raise awareness enough to mostly offset its impact. You never know.
