This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Obviously Warner Brothers understands that the next generation DVD war is holding back sales of high definition media. To solve that they are thinking that a dual-sided disc that features a Bluray movie on one side and an HD-DVD on the other. Currently delayed until early next year Warner Brothers has only signed up subsidiary Paramount embrace the Total concept at this time.
HD-DVD RRP in UK is GBP26, or $52 at today’s rate.
This “total disc” will not be sold any cheaper, and I would bet it would come close to GBP30.
As usual, studios will say that the first disks are more expensive bu t”eventually the price will come down as we master production techniques”. Yeah right, just like they did for CDs.
The jury may still be out as to why none of the formats are picking up, I can tell you that there’s no chance in a million that I am paying GBP26 or more for a movie.
I’ve substituted HD movies with other forms of entertainment (i.e. Pub Drinks, books, travelling etc.)
They can pry my money for these movies from my cold fingers
no porn on blueray … HDDVD = winner … give it another year and it will be el goneo (thats spanish for gone :D ) just like Betamax ;)
No porn on Blu-Ray? Source?
haha, Chad… that’s a pretty simplistic way to “learn spanish”, haha… gone doesn’t translate to goneo.. you can’t just add an o at the end of a word… remember Spanish is a pretty more complex language, and the word you were actually looking for is “desaparecido”.
On the other hand, I do agree with you, history has proven that the media the porn industry chooses to follow is the winner in the end.
No porn on Blueray = no pirated media on blueray. Another reason PS3 sell suck..
Since the DVD cracked, it become famous. T
As far as rentals and sells of discs it seems blu-ray is doing better for now. blu-ray also benefits from a long list of film companies producing blu-ray and dvd’s exclusively. And i just heard that the players are getting cheaper for both. im not a fan of sony but blu-ray still has some hope of winning the format war
Paramount is not a subsidiary of WB.
Go blu-ray!
