Apple Fixes the Snap, Crackle and Pop

Apple just posted a 660k update to Mac OS X 10.4.10 designed to fix the “popping” and “crackling” sounds which would come through when some external speakers were connected to Intel-based Macs.

Apple has also re-released the original Mac OS X 10.4.10 update as v1.1 to add the audio patch, so if you’ve held off based on the audio problems it should be safe to upgrade now.

    Hey guys… it IS NOT fixed. My machine is still popping after the update… it’s a lot more infrequent, but it’s still doing it.

    I never had that problem, but I’m on the phone with support now about getting kernel panics and intermittent wifi ONLY when on battery power. Apparently it’s a common problem on the apple discussion forums.

    Hmm, heard it was a big problem with a lot of hackintosh installs, but I doubt that Apple wants to support them.
