Palm Drags Their Feet And Delays Next Gen OS Until 2008

Palms CEO Ed Colligan, in a recent conference call, confirmed Palm will NOT ship their highly touted and overhauled Linux-Garnet OS this year, moving the target to “sometime in 2008″. This now forces Palm to sell all new Treo smartphones with the current (and OUTDATED) Garnet OS and Windows Mobile until this new OS.

This is unfortunately sad news that has the potential to really hurt Palms future and market share as other vendors release technically superior products.

    Let’s face it, they aren’t going to be coming out with the new OS for a long ass time. They have been delaying it for years and nothing has come up except a couple screen shots from 2 years ago. I hope they are working on some kick ass features, and I hope it really blows away WM (doubt it) With all of this time it’s taken, I’d sure like to see something.
