Lack of MMS on the iPhone Bother You? We have the Workaround
This post was published 2 years 8 months 13 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Pissed of that you can’t send an MMS from the iPhone? Although we are fairly certain that the feature will surface in an update sometime in the next month or two, there is a work around that will enable pseudo MMS capabilities to your iPhone.
Since you can email pictures you have taken, to send a picture to any cellphone just email it to the recipients MMS email address. All you will need to do is enter the recipients 10 digit number into the appropriate carrier field.
US Based Carriers:
Alltel = xxxxxxxxxx@message.alltel.com
AT&T = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.att.net
Boost Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@myboostmobile.com
Cingular (AT&T) = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.mycingular.com
Einstein PCS = xxxxxxxxxx@einsteinmms.com
Sprint = xxxxxxxxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com
T-Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@tmomail.net
US Cellular = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.uscc.net
Verizon Wireless = xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com
Virgin Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@vmobl.com
Guys, please stop the iPhone news. We’re in overload at this point.
Everybody is posting solid iPhone news all around. Why don’t you try and differentiate by *NOT* posting as many iPhone news?
This is not iPhone specific, any item with this much coverage in so little time causes sever burn-out from the readers.
Oh well
The iPhone news is over for today and tomorrow.
Haha Oliver not to be mean or anything but no one actually makes you read anything. Thats why posts have titles. You’re not interested you move on. No harm done.
And some people don’t have umpteen feeds from other blogs so not everyone gets a sever burn-out. Let Dan and Derek post as they wish.
I’m just sayin…
@Myke
Agreed.
Agreed as well. Plus this iPhone news isn’t anything like TUAW, where every post is about it.
@OLMAR
you have to remember sir that all of the authors of this blog (status quo) are iPhone users that are tweaking, hacking, and playing with their new babies… if we find something cool or a work around we’re going to tell you, us, and everyone else about it.
PS incase anyone was interested it doesn’t support bluetooth modem support either :(
Ok well how about when someone with Verizon wants to send you a picture? Is there a workaround for that?
thanks,
Tom
So this states its for iPhone. I have one and the list at the top is not up to date. For instance.
Sprint= (xxx)xxx-xxxx@pm.sprint.com
Verizon=(xxx)xxx-xxxx@vtext.com
Anybody have any confirmations on other email updates!?
I made a contact in Address Book that has all of the providers from the ‘@’ and on. Makes this process a LOT better!

neone think mms messing will be put into the iphone?
Anyone have any ideas re: sending MMS in the UK? For instance on O2 network?
Cheers
E-mail and MMS – there’s a key difference!
MMS Coverage in Europe is huge. MMS can be sent from almost everywhere. On the other hand for E-mail (with pics attached) to be used instead of MMS, bothe the sender and the receiver need to be at that moment on a WiFi spot… MMS main use case is casual use, and when that happens many times sender has no Wifi. e.g. a weekend on the countryside, on the street, traveling abroad, etc.
What about the International operator? Do you have a list?
thanks a lot roninvp!! everyone else ive seen has had the wrong email, *********@messaging.sprintpcs.com does not work anymore. *********@pm.sprint.com does!!!!
pktpix.com does it for you… you send a message to **********@pktpix.com, and it sends the message to the recipient, no matter what network they’re on, so you don’t have to remember @messaging.or.something.else.obscure.carrier.com.

Does anyone know the code for sending a pic to a Metro PCS phone? Thanks.
can anyone tell me what the ones are for Uk carriers please
I’ve looked for an email for cricket phones and the only one I have come up with is **********@mms.mycricket.com and that doesn’t work. any suggestions?
Ok I know how to send to most carriers but when I try to send MMS from my iPhone to a Metro PCS carrier it doesn’t work and im e-mailing the pic to **********@mymetropcs.com anybody have any answers on that?
The trick is to recieve a picture from another carriers phone to your default email on your IPhone. Their carrier email will show (example XXXXXXXXXX@tmomail.com) on the email just save it to their contact.
note: if they cant send to you, you cant send to them!
If it sounds confusing keep re-read it!!!
the “work around” sending to xxxxxxxxxx@mms.att.net would be great!
If it worked……….. Been trying to send to my wife and kids phones for days and nothing.
just sent a pic to yourself off one of there phones to get the ending of the url to there phone.
That’s just it, I have done that, and the “@mms.att.net” is the correct address.
It just doesn’t work…
Wow, I can’t wait to try this. For me it is really a drag that the iPhone doesn’t do this, and embarrassing when someone with a string-and-cup phone they got for “free” from their carrier asks why.
So, maybe Olivier doesn’t have an iPhone? He sure posts quick for someone lacking essential modern technology. Any chance UnEasy will be giving away one in the future? Maybe a first generation? To the first cranky comment on a new post?
okay if they have iPhones it can’t work. And try adding and removing the one before the area code.
thanks you thank you thanks you!!!! this is amazing. i haven’t talked to my dad in years he doesn’t have a computer and i was able to send him a text message with my photo!! thanks a million!
