Sorry Apple, RIM stole your thunder. On iDay RIM stock jumped over $34 A SHARE to bring the stock price to $200 a share. Seems that many people are scared of the iPhone, we over at UNEASYsilence are still forming our opinions about the device, but I can tell you in advance that there may be a return or two.

Thanks Syl!

  1. Wow, what a trolling post.

Trolling? No. Truthful, yes. Apple’s iPhone isn’t half of what they tried to hype it as, and it’s just too bloody expensive for any but the hard core Apple fanatics to throw money at, it seems. I mean, why get an iPhone if a perfectly fine Blackberry Pearl (as well as many other smartphones) only sells for $199 with the same contract term that an iPhone demands, offering similar capability from a brand that people trust to make phones, rather than high priced gimmicks.

Oops, I guess I just trolled Apple, too.

    Two points to make here.

One, just because they didn’t sell out doesnt mean that they didn’t have a success. Anyone have hard numbers on how many were produced for the first run? Anyone have any hard numbers on how many they sold? Yeah, lets wait for some numbers before we start naysaying, or for that matter, saying its a mad success.

Second, can someone tell me why the hell blackberry’s stock did jump $34 a share? Cause something tells me its not completely ipod related, and if it is, I don’t want any RIM stock, cause thats some volatile stock ;) Unless its at the announcement that AT&T is pissing on the business customers, which means blackberry can rest assured that it’s gonna be in business users hands still. But even then, it never was a risk, cause the iPod doesnt support activesync.

Basically, I’m confused to hell over the stock, can someone shed some real light on this? Thanks :)

Oh, the point we can all agree on though is the line-waiting was retarded. I went to the Columbia MD apple store at 10:30. Store was empty, stocked with iPhones though. People were lined up all day, business-types had skipped work. What a wasted sick/personal day, haha.

how on Earth is that trolling??? Simply because it doesn’t dump praise all over the iPhone does NOT mean it’st trolling. If anything, you’re trolling but posting that garbage comment. All he said was that there might be a return or two. get off your high horse.

  5. syl says:

Andrew, RIM’s huge stock price increase happened after they reported their 73% increase in annual earnings. So that might be why.

  6. syl says:

    oh welcome dan btw ;)

  7. Sean says:

They jumped probably because the Pearl is such a solid phone and now they are coming out with the Blackberry, “Comet” pretty soon. It will have Microsoft DMR added, Micro SD slot on outside of the phone, 3.2 pixel camera, and yes, wi-fi.
