Well, I guess this means only one thing: Apple didn't decide to pull one of Sony's tricks. They actually shipped enough to go around instead of creating fake demand and extra hype by cutting the supply short. Wow. Amazing.

I find this extra interesting because I spent the day trying to find a Wii in London. Still a pain in the ass 6 months after release. Finally found a Woolworth's in Islington that had 3 though.

iPhone is rather expensive, and there's no manufacturing issues. Sure there's tons of excitement about it but few people say "I'm getting one" more of "This is really cool"

So why would it sell out?

Just came back from the Apple Store North Michigan Ave. in Chicago. There were about 30-40 people in line at opening. All walked out with an iPhone, including myself.

Availability gets updated at night. So they could easily sell out today. Or the site could not work. I would recommend someone actually confirm this by going to a store listed on the site.

Not all that shocking, if Apple thought they were going to sell out in an hour then they wouldn't have stayed open until midnight. That's why I went last night at 11pm at got mine. And might I say, the keyboard is AMAZING. I can type so much faster than my crappy treo. All those who were concerned about that, be concerned no more. It works amazingly well.
