A Friendly Reminder from Verizon: Yup, We’re Open Today

Verizon, give us a break. This has to be one of the lamest press releases ever.
The title reads: “Verizon Wireless Stores Open All Day June 29 For Customers To Test Drive The Nation’s Most Reliable Wireless Network”
Wow, thank you for reminding the world that you are open for business. News flash, UNEASYsilence is blogging on Friday June, 29th… STOP THE PRESSES!!!!

Lmao, this is great. Now I can sign up for their horribly expensive $40/mo internet service.
Which $40 overly-expensive internet service is that? The one that connects to their EVDO one, which would be their service which is far-superior to AT&T’s service (not to mention around the same price or cheaper…you cant compare their’s with AT&T’s EDGE network, you’d have to put it up against AT&T’s 3G network)? Come on, the iPhone is an awesome phone, but Verizon definitely has the edge on AT&T when it comes to the network. Theres a reason that Apple went to Verizon first (but their’s also a reason why they didn’t stay there, namely because Verizon, while having an awesome network, is out of touch and greedy).
I think they were trying to remind people that, though the iPhone is out today at at&t’s stores, Verizon still exists — they’re trying to say kinda, “Don’t forget about us.”
And yeah, Andrew hit the nail on the head with network. at&t’s EDGE network is only a 2.5g, rather than 3g like Verizon’s EVDO.
Oh come on, Apple did the same thing when they released pricing info on their upcoming OS poking fun at Microsoft and their numerous, and sometimes confusing, versions of Windows. But when someone does the same thing to Apple they get slammed for being lame? I think they were both pretty good jokes especially considering the source. Cut them some slack man.
i agree, they where just saying don’t over look them. and the only reason why Apple went with AT&T’s EDGE network because it has more coverage than their 3G network currently does. and the EDGE network was recently updated to 200 kbps. Jobs said that a 3G chip was to bulky and would use more battery power than what they put in.
