Dude, You’re Getting an Unlocked Nokia

This weekend Dell began selling unlocked Nokia devices, but not the crappy ones. We’re talking the N80, E61i, NokiaN95, Nokia E61 and so on with prices starting at almost $400.
Although owning an unlocked phone is next to Nirvana (I’m a CDMA user), why Dell would sell unlocked phones is beyond me. It doesn’t fit in their “no inventory” model and to top it all off they stock NOKIA?! Besides Derek, I don’t know ANYBODY else in the US that uses a Symbian phone.
Thoughts?
I still think it’s pretty cool. Dell will sell anything these days.
Which is weird, because I don’t know anyone in the UK that doesn’t use a Symbian phone. Even I went back to Nokia after a brief flirtation with Windows Mobile 5.0. Of course Nokia phones are pretty easy to unlock if you have the right software, and that software is floating around on the Internet, so pretty much everyone I know in the UK has an unlocked Nokia.
Is the US and UK phone markets really that different? I mean, what do you guys actually buy instead of Nokia? Everyone over here has a Nokia…
Damn Dan, you make it sound like Symbian does not have a solid user base!
ive got an unlocked nokia phone running symbian, quite possibly the best phone ever had, plus no one else has it in the US
I’m in the US an I use an unlocked SonyEricsson p900 that I bought directly from SE a number of years ago. I love Symbian and will continue to use this phone very happily for the next 11 days…. till I get my iPhone.
Ugh iPhone!!!
iphone…. terminal client?…. if not… Nokia I’m looking at your kid!
