YouTube today launched a new site optimized for cellphones and mobile devices. The service will require your phone to be capable of video streaming since instead of pushing the video to your phone as Flash they use the mobile friendly 3GP format. Plus on the run you can use MMS on your phone to directly upload videos to YouTube (Those seetings can be found in Account Setting portion of My Account).

To access the new mobile site just plug m.youtube.com in your mobile browser and you’re off.

Not all YouTube videos will be available at launch but they will be rolled out over a span of time. I have a feeling this has to do with the announcement at D:5 that YouTube will store videos in the H.264 format.

Before visiting YouTube mobile they warn that it is a data intensive application and they highly recommend that you upgrade to an unlimited data plan with your mobile service provider to avoid additional charges.
