It work i guess but the fonts are really blurry and not that nice to look at. The address bar annoyed me within 2 seconds of me clicking on it. Instead of highlighting all the url so im ready to replace it with a new one it just put the curser where you click. To make it worse double clicking only highlight the word you click on. You have to triple click to highlight the whole url. Why?

New apple.com design as well. Looks nice.

Safari 3 Beta on my XP box crashes whenever I try to set a new home page. Perhaps this is on purpose so everyone keeps going to the Mac start page!

  3. Dazza says:

To quickly highlight the whole URL just click the favicon or Ctrl+L

  4. Andrew Clark says:

    its way buggy

  5. Michael Curtis says:

    Its not too bad.

    But, I still prefer Firefox.

  6. Andre Br says:

    Extremely buggy.
Crashes when I try to open it.
And i’m not alone with this problem, check a few mac forums and you will see a lot of other issues!
    However it’s a beta…

  7. dstaley says:

Works beautifully for me! I am loving this! It might even replace Firefox on my Vista Computer. Wish it had inline spellcheck though . . .

  8. Jeff says:

java does not work for me even after installing it from the plugin section, it looks and works 100% in OS X

  9. Hax says:

Mine crashes whenever I try to add a bookmark, or open that bookmark-organizer-tab-thingy. And that is clearly a no-go.
I like Apple’s text rendering though. Maybe I’ll use the final version for more than checking my websites for compatibility.

  10. Andrew Clark says:

in safari all the text on uneasysilence is caps

  11. Justin says:

Works fine here on Vista H.P. Even though it doesn’t look as nice as Mac ‘caz the menu bar. yay to draggable tabs!

  12. molotovito says:

The text is all gibberish. Can’t read anything.

  13. Myke says:

They’ve got a long way to go here. None of the buttons are showing up on the interface. Just all gray area. And I can’t type anything in the address bar. I know its beta but it should at least be functional.

And I can’t stand the anti-aliased fonts. Reminds me of IE7. I like the clean edges of Firefox.

  14. Matt says:

So Apple finally did something horribly wrong. This years WWDC and Safari on ‘doze!

  15. Alan Rager says:

Wow. What’s the point? I can see using it on a Mac. After all, it works, it’s quick, and it’s aesthetically pleasing to many, but FireFox still has the open source functionality that Safari cannot match if one truly needs to install a browser, and it IE6/7 comes preinstalled on computers, leaving Safari nearly no place in Windows world.

  16. Antemio says:

I got many impressions about Safari, none of all is positive (Sorry Steve).

    1. I installed (should I say tried) in 2 PCs and my own notebook, none of these attemps were without crashes and misterious behavior.

    2. After installing (I strong recomend to have your Windows in order and good backup of your data), finally I got Safari … which is good to see, inteface is nice.

    3. I could do almost nothing without that piece of s… software crashed; in 5 minutes span I got 35 crashes in Safari or related programs.

    4. I know it is a beta version, but come on Google and Micrsoft releases betas that at least works, Apparently the version 3 uploaded by Apple is a joke.

    5. This product is so far behind the rest, so I keep in mind my list: FF > IE7 > Opera … and in 999th position is this waste of time called Safari.

Any good news? yeap if you got a Mac you’ll love it.
