FireFox Users: Recover an Accidntally Closed Tab with a Simple Keystroke

This post was published 2 years 5 months 13 days ago and its content may not be valid anymore.How many times did you close a tab unintentionally? By pressing Ctrl-Shift-T on PC’s or Cmd-Shift-T for Macs, you can save yourself a whole lot of heartache!
I thought that was only for shifting between tabs? Ctrl-Tab changes to the next tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab to the previous. Works like Alt-Tab for for switching between windows in well….Windows. My tests don’t restore closed tabs. Am I missing something?

As an admitted Opera fanboy, I have to point out that Opera has had this for a while. :) The shortcut is Ctrl+Z (undo). Make sure you’re not focused in a text field where the undo shortcut undoes whatever you typed last instead.

Now only if i can get back what i lost when writing a long response, and either i accidentally close the tab, or the browser crashes. any add-ons for that? Undoing the close tab will load the page again, therefore losing anything not saved on the page

Save a keystroke simply use Ctrl + F12 to open a closed tab
I think these are far useful tips for Firefox (or basically any other modern browser) users. Go on try em’ out if you haven’t already.

Dear Opera fanboy, firefox has had this longer than Opera has. :)

Actually Firefox hasn’t even *existed* as long as Opera has had this feature. It was introduced in the version 7 line of Opera, released in Jan 2003. The first browser released under the name “Firefox” came out in Feb 2004. Even it’s predecessor “Firebird” didn’t make an appearance until May 2003. Please check your facts in the future.
